    DNS lookup

Resolve any DNS record type directly — like dig in your browser. A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA and more.

    Frequently asked

What DNS record types can I look up?

A (IPv4 address), AAAA (IPv6 address), CNAME (canonical name), MX (mail exchange), TXT (text), NS (nameserver), SOA (start of authority), CAA (certification authority authorization), SRV (service locator), PTR (reverse pointer), and TLSA (TLS authentication).

How is this different from the propagation checker?

The propagation checker queries 25+ public resolvers to show what each resolver's cache currently holds — useful after a DNS change. This lookup tool queries a single resolver (Cloudflare) and returns the authoritative answer without cache comparison.

    Are the results cached?

No. Every query is live. We send a DNS-over-HTTPS request to Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 resolver for each lookup. Cloudflare may apply its own caching policies, but you're seeing the most current answer available from that resolver.

    What does NXDOMAIN mean?

The domain name does not exist. The authoritative nameservers for the zone responded that the name is not configured. This is different from an empty answer — empty answer means the domain exists but no records of the specified type are configured.
